First off I have to say, I could not put this book down.....it is brilliant. This book follows the author's sense of humour and her relationship with food throughout her life. She is very perceptive and goes into details with a gusto only a true foodie could know about and write about in this way. Her wit is shown throughout the book. Her descriptive elements make you giggle. Grace Dent takes a fun look at food but she also takes you on a journey with her family and friends and how every one takes on a relationship with food. You have to remember before you read this book that Grace is from a working class family. She is not from a family of chefs who own top restaurants. She has grown up with every day foods and three square meals a day. Her memories of meals are very real and something every person can relate to. I found it brave for the author to write a book like this but it definately works
