This book brought back a lot of memories and resonated with me quite deeply at times. Dent has an easy to read style whilst still being able to draw in the reader with her well written and humorous prose. I especially enjoyed her memories of childhood finding them descriptive and honest whilst remaining tender. Her later life is dealt with too and gives an insightful glimpse into the world of television and the media. The sections of the book that I connected with most are the ones that dealt frankly and openly with her ageing Parents. Here I thought she dealt with issues' such as illness and fragility in an especially astute and compassionate way whilst still remaining genuine and open about the realities of living in at times, what must have been challenging circumstances. This is not a book that I would normally chose to read but I enjoyed it immensely for its engaging and honest look at the family and how it changes and develops over time.
