When I first opened the book I was immediately drawn in to the british white working class stereotypical family. I was intrigued by their secrets and I yearned to hear that Grace would find the fame and acknowkedgement she wanted because she was so down to earth and normal! I felt invested from the start and the way it was written was like an old comfy pair of slippers- so familiar and warm. I was loving it, but aware that it was very much a memoir of someone I'd never heard of.

As the book progressed I found there to be a massive lull just over half way where I questioned a few times whether I could be bothered to read on. It became quite dull I found and at this point, hearing this person's life story became a bit tedious as the humour dipped and it felt like the ramblings of someone who had had one too many wines in the local pub. Sadly that's as far as I got. With about 1/3 of the book left to go, I lost interest completely sadly.
