I'm afraid this book just was not for me. It took me a minute to realise it was an autobiography about someone I had absolutely no idea of.
Who is Grace Dent? Why has she written about her life? What has she done to get into the public eye?
I truly think this book was over-hyped and I am pretty sure Grace did nothing but talk her way up the career ladder.
It is said she is one of the greatest food critic/writers of all time and yet I have heard nothing or seen nothing of her before. I would say Gordon Ramsey was the greatest food critic of all time and the fact that Grace Dent is claiming this title is a little bit insulting to Gordon Ramsey.
Granted there was some insight into living with someone with dementia. It must have been very hard, i do agree on that matter. And her childhood in Carlisle must have been very interesting to live, Carlisle being such a beautiful place.
