I absolutely devoured this book in just a few sittings, because Grace Dent completely captures growing up in the 1970's and 1980's and I was there with her through every page. She invoked such nostalgia in me that it was also a bit sad at times, thinking of those who are no longer with us, but who we enjoyed some truly horrific 1970's/1980's food choices with.

I know Grace as a food/article writer who can be a bit funny, but I was laughing our loud at some of her antics and life stories. Her climb up the slippery ladder in various magazines was funny, shocking and quite revealing in places.

Aside from the humour, there is her difficult relationships with her Mother and later on her Father, and this bit is quite hard to read at times, particularly her Father's (and, in fact, the whole family's) struggles with dementia later on.

A lovely book that I have enjoyed and will be happy to share with others.
