I really really loved this book. I didn’t know much about grace dent prior to reading this, just that she was a good critic and had been on master chef.. I loved how candidly she spoke about her parents at all ages, how her dad had many other children and how her mum was focused on being a proper lady. I loved how she spoke of her dad’s diagnoses even though I could only imagine how hard it would be.

When she put her dad into a home, I felt it and for the book to end with where they are in 2020 just feels beautiful.

Grace is a lovely person who has worked hard but never forgotten who she is.

She’ll always love a woopsies bargain from Asda or a wednesday curry night at her local weatherspoons.

I would recommend this to be read as it flowed really nicely and was not pompous.

It’s strange to have an autobiography that’s not full of photos but her words painted the picture.
