For starters, the cover is powerful and a good introduction to the intensity of the plot. This is Jamison Shea's debut novel, and what a great one it is! There is a "health warning" by the author at the start of the book. She warns that there is "potentially disturbing" content and "blood, all sorts of harming and murder". So you know what you are in for! The first part of the book opens with the heroine in intense and very stressful audition for a part in a ballet. The story is so well written that you will become tense and relate closely to the rivalry, and the necessity to succeed, or be relegated to a back row part, or get another job altogether! A great read - even though there is blood and gore!
