When I read that this was a story about the world of professional ballet and... demons (?!), I instantly knew that I wanted to pick it up.
I absolutely loved the setting of this elite ballet school. It was so cutthroat and you could really feel that the stakes were high. The author did a great job of telling this story whilst including some big topics, such as racism and classism. My issue mainly lies with the pacing. It starts off really strong and it hooks you into the story, but then it plateaus out and becomes rather boring. Also, this is marketed as a horror yet I'd class it more as an urban fantasy. Normally this wouldn't bother me as I enjoy reading urban fantasies, but I was really looking forward to the horror elements, so I was left quite disappointed.
It's got a gorgeous cover and an amazing premise, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. There was a lot of promise in this debut though!

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and Readers First for sending me a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
