When I first read the premise of this novel, I was hooked. I love ballet and a novel about a ballerina trying to make her way up in the ranks felt like it would be really interesting. However, I was let down by all aspects of this book.

My biggest issue with this novel was the pacing. At first, the book moves along at a great pace, but then it slows to a crawl and I just found myself completely uninterested in what was happening. There are multiple murders that occur and none of them are remotely exciting or thrilling to read about. The worst part was that I was able to guess what the twist would be and who the murderer was. It wasn't even remotely hard to guess.

I also hated all of the characters in this novel and didn't connect to any of them. Laure is unlikable and not relatable at all. I became tired of always having her blame someone and the giant chip on her shoulder.

I also didn't connect with the writing. It just didn't flow very well and felt strangely jumpy.

Unfortunately, this book just wasn't for me.
