Wow! Just wow! I knew from the first moment, months ago when I heard about this book, that it would be something special and it was. I am so glad I wasn't disappointed.

Laure is such a brilliant character. She truly shined in a world where all the odds were stacked against her.

The world of ballet...cutthroat, toxic.. filled with privilege and money.

Laure stood out not just because of the colour of her skin in a predominantly white profession but because she came from the streets and worked her way up.

All Laure wants is to be recognised, adored, and respected as a ballerina.

She wants that leading role that she's worked so hard for but cannot grasp because she doesn't "fit" the mold.

When she finds out she can have these things she makes a bargain which truly changes everything in her life.

Everything!

It's after the bargain is made that this story properly kicks into motion and takes you down a very dark winding path. It's here where Laure shows us who she really is as she embraces the beast within.

This story is fresh and bold. Edgy and dark. I really enjoyed Jamison's writing style as it has depth... there's so much more to this story than a surface layer.

And, as she's teased there might be a book two sign me up!
