I liked the beginning disclaimer by the author as it gives a warning of horrific details and gore, and that obviously wets the reader’s appetite!
Laure is the main character- she is determined to make her life as an astonishing ballerina but she has er doubts that she doesn’t belong in that world and she allows these to trouble her. Other characters aren’t particularly nice so I can see how they would give her self doubt.
I liked the setting of the Parisian underground catacombs it really added to the deathly feel.
It was quite a good read but not as much as a page turner that I would have expected. I think the author has more stories to tell and I would read more of their writing as there was a depth to it. I didn’t really like the cover as I thought it made it feel like a young adult’s book and wasn’t something I wanted to be seen reading on the underground!
