Okay so the first thing that really caught my eye was the title!! I was confused and intrigued, which is exactly what a title should do. Like I thought wait how are you the beast and you fed her to yourself??
Anyway this book is thrilling horror novel about the toll of giving everything to a world that will never love you back.
Laure Mesny is determined to make it in the cutthroat world of ballet, and she will do anything to prove that this Black girl can take centre stage. Anything . . . Even if it means entering into a bargain with a primordial power in the Catacombs beneath Paris.
As a dancer myself this was like super relatable. It just goes to show how cutthroat the ballet world is and can be.
The writing style of the author is like an essay. Usually I’m like omg this is boring and something I would be forced to write at school. HOWEVER it is still gripping and I found myself in suspense.
