Set in the catacombs beneath Paris, Laure Mesny finds herself drawn to the primordial entity Acheron, who just wants to help her reach her potential... with a small sacrifice. Bare in mind it is not for the faint of heart, with intricate description of gore and blood.
I think the characters were especially brilliant, in particular the main character of Laure. She is a prima ballerina determined to climb the ladder of success, no matter how she gets there...
She went through many struggles in her relationships, first and foremost with her best friend/only friend Coralie. I won't lie, I did not like Coralie but I believe she really added to the story.
I would highly recommend this for fans of Ninth House or Black Swan.
