Lovely cover, it says "love story" simply and clearly. Evan Taft is to take a gap year, continue therapy, and mature. Shoosh Bell, high school success, destined for performing arts college, is getting to terms with her sister being killed in a road accident. Birds and song are mysterious themes that run through the story like a watermark. Then we jump to Paris in 1832 and a love story cut short by disease. These components look promising for a love story. Unfortunately the coarseness of the story spoils it for me. Too much fucking, sack of shit, prone to crotch sweat , routinely horny. etc. Maybe this is day-to-day American talk, but it is not the language of a love story for me.
