If this book had started with the chapter set in Paris I might have given it a go. I could even have embraced the idea of a celestial bird. Unfortunately the preceding chapters were a complete turn-off. I didn't warm to any of the characters and I'm no prude but I just found the frequent swearing intrusive and unnecessary. Oh, and let's be really modern and include some WhatsApp messages and mentions of Snapchat. I have a feeling I'm going to be in the minority and everyone will be gushing over it.
