A beautiful premise

Firstly, I have to say just how gorgeous the front cover is for this book. It seems to sparkle. It made me want to pick it up straight away.

However, I found the story itself to be a bit lacking. I like the premise. I find it a fascinating subject that we could have past lives, soulmates and be drawn to someone we’ve known before.

The two main characters, Shosh and Evan, are deeply flawed and realistic. They are two young people, struggling in life caught between still being young and being on the brink of adulthood and the responsibilities which go with it. I truly felt for both of them and their family situations. One of my favourite aspects of the entire book was Evan’s interactions with his younger brother. The care, understanding and love between them was beautiful.

My issue with the story though was the slow pace and the writing style. I found it hard to get into and it didn’t always hold my attention. I was just hoping for more.
