It's the twoing and froing that really winds me up in this book. It was such a long winded way to explain the story and get to the main event.
Shosh's sister dies in a car accident and the trauma sends Shosh into a spiral of drinking and recklessness. Evan's little brother is on the spectrum and Evan is fiercely protective of him and his mum who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Both Shosh and Evan are in the same school, Evan being a year younger, and their paths keep crossing. Both of them keep hearing a song in the wind, the same song, which originated from years ago in another life time (hence the title). Not only have you got the present day Shosh and Evans story but you also get to flip back many years to other lovers with paths crossed. It was getting a little confusing and I felt my mind drifting. I am a little disappointed as I was really looking forward to reading this one.
