Poignant and emotional, this fated-lovers romance explores grief, healing, anxiety, family and the kind of connections that make us feel seen.

Fans of John Green, David Levithan, Matt Haig and Stephen Chbosky will adore the lyrical, poetic prose and the author's deftness with original analogies. It's a brilliant mix of old-school profundity and contemporary slang, bringing the vastness of the universe and the complexity of the heart into the context of a teenage group of friends. It perfectly captures the time of life where everything feels infinite and momentous, friends become family and love seems capable of anything.

And while it's technically YA, a coming-of-age story, I'm sure its humour, sweetness and depth of feeling will be readable and relatable to those of all ages and experiences.

Trigger warnings include death in the family, cancer, anxiety, panic attacks, depression and addiction, but all of these topics are approached with compassion and sensitivity, letting hope shine through the cracks of broken people.

I loved seeing the central couple grow and develop as individuals, but also encourage each other to become the best versions of themselves, and rely on their support networks. It's always lovely to read about healthy, strengthening relationships, and there are all kinds of those between these pages, ranging from professional to private.

I'd describe the tone as melancholy in the best way. It left me feeling the 'proud glad sad love' the protagonists have no word for and feeling grateful for all the ways in which our hearts glow for each other.
