I was really drawn to this book because of the beautiful cover and the premise which sounded like a magical soulmate romance where these two people have loved each other in many different timelines. Unfortunately, I didn't get on with it very well. The writing was very poetic, but in a way that seemed like the author was trying too hard and so it came off as confusing at times.
The 'another life' element was very marginal, considering that it's in the title of the book. It was a couple of pages every section and one of them was written in a fragmented way, like a poem. It could have been fleshed out a bit more.
The main romance was also a bit of a let down. There was so much build up around the characters and the issues in their lives that by the time they finally meet (on page 128!), I just didn't really care. I skim read a lot of the last third of the book because it felt a bit angsty and unnecessarily dramatic for me.
Overall, this was a really unfortunate reading experience because it had so much promise but it just didn't work for me!
