I really loved the concept of this book. It is centered around the idea of soulmates and love that lasts multiple lifetimes where two people can find each other in other times and places when they are different people and still feel that connection.
The story focuses on Evan and Shosh who are teenagers both dealing with challenging times in their lives. They can both hear a song, which no one else apparently can, and this song brings them together and forms the basis of their relationship. We also get chapters interspersed in the book which tell short stories of other couples who have found each other at other points in time that draw parallels with Evan and Shosh's love story.
The writing in this book is beautiful and does a great job of creating a spiritual atmosphere which is perfect for the message of the book. The only thing that let it down slightly for me was that I didn't really feel the deep connection between Evan and Shosh or believe that they had this timeless powerful love. Without that, it was hard to reconcile them with the soulmates we see in the short story chapters.
Overall though, this was a great premise and a lovely way to introduce a YA reader to the concept of soulmates and timeless love.
