Star-crossed...
I enjoyed this and really wanted to give it a solid 4 stars, but there was just something lacking...
I loved the idea of star-crossed lovers, of souls destined to be together through eternity. But for some reason I just didn't warm enough to the two characters Evan and Shosh.
With both characters going through difficult times, they are drawn together via the haunting singing/lyrics they keep hearing. And perhaps this is the problem, as I felt this needed to be explored more. There are lots of flashbacks to other couples also drawn together - souls forever entwined - but no explanation given as to the haunting music etc.
As a young adult book, this fits the bill - lots of soul searching, big life choices and a will they/won't they plot line. But for me, it needed something more.
The front cover is worth mentioning, as it's quite magical and dreamy.
