Firstly I should point out that I’m an old guy and this novel is aimed at the young adult.
Its a poetic love story based on two characters, Evan and Shosh, who live in different lifetimes but are connected by a romantic song. The book seems to concentrate on all sorts of emotions between the characters rather than a clear story line.
This makes the plot rather difficult to follow and often confusing yet still quite heart rending at times. Perhaps it’s the multiple time lines that are woven into the story which lost me together with the rather slow pace and finally a feeling that there must be more to the story- or am I missing something?
While this book is clearly not my choice of read, I understand that readers who are passionate about futuristic love stories and don't mind some complex narrative are more likely to enjoy this book. More for the young adult than me I’m afraid.
