Well, I didn’t find it funny.

I read this as I normally go for fiction and I fancied a change. Thought it was going to be funny so was looking forward to a laugh out loud read. I was a bit disappointed as it didn’t make me laugh.

I found this book interesting and thought provoking, I remain a little puzzled as I don’t think I really got it.

The author, who happens to be a comedian, talks about his take on what makes us human. I believe he was posing the idea that what happens to a person could possibly influence their career choice and in his case he became a comedian because of a past event. It is possible of course but the book doesn’t prove or disprove the theory.

I think that the book is really philosophising about human nature from the perspective of a man involved in comedy. The book seems to suggest that comedy is the field of work people do if they have emotional and mental difficulties. This idea really blows my mind- I can’t believe someone could suggest something so stupid. This book is really one man’s thoughts and theories about people and their lives. He tries to be funny, butI just didn’t really get it.
