Wow, I was sceptical when I first started reading this first impression, particularly because the first few pages don't have many illustrations so it didn't seem very engaging for kids. But this book is actually really clever in that it engages kids less though the pictures and more through the read along (or dance along) aspect of the story. It's probably not one to read before bedtime, as its high energy might wake kids up more than relax them, but I can imagine it's a great once to read when they need to left off some steam and release energy, and could be a great way of getting them in the right mindset to refocus. I can just picture it being read in the early years of school for that exact purpose. It even had me giggling as I read it by myself, so I know that reading it with children will be an absolute laugh and it will fast become a favourite.
