What an entertaining way to engage younger children with reading. The colours are bright and add good contrast to the words. The font size is large and even for a younger age audience shows how font size can influence how words are spoken aloud.
Children will also find the 'bottom' aspect hilarious - even as an adult I was amused by the 'bare'! Its a good way of showing children how homophones can be funny as well as allowing opportunities for discussion how we have words that sound similar have very different meanings.
Although the bear is the central character the addition of the bee allows for movement and opportunties to link the book to childrens wider natural world. The bear not being scared of the bee also helps to fight the fear that some children have of insects that fly and buzz.
Of course the dancing element is also a huge opportunity to encourage movement within the book and it lends itself well to reading outside.
