My daughter is a big fan of the “I Say Ooh, You Say Ahh” book so I was delighted to receive a copy of “I Say Oh, You Say No” today. We read the book together several times tonight and each time my daughter was giggling throughout. I really enjoy these books because they are entertaining to children but are very clever and make kids think about language without them realising it. The imagery is well chosen, very simplistic but perfectly makes the book work. It would be very easy to go overboard with the drawings but the understated but well chosen illustrations chosen are excellent. I would recommend this book for pre school aged children as well as those who have started their reading journey. It is a bit daft but in a way which engages children and makes them dissolve into laughter - it’s a great idea for a series and I hope there will be more before my child outgrows them.
