I loved this little book here.
I loved that it gets the child involved in the reading and was great that it had the kids practice at the start as it did take a few attempts to get a reaction each time. I found it was funny and witty, allowing kids to really get involved with ‘Oh the bear’.
A wonderful book with simple illustration which enabled the child to try and recognise the word 'Oh' and anticipate what they were supposed to do - would work well for kids who can read a bit or kids who are still
learning.
I particularly like that this text was so conversational with the child - it was a team effort to enjoy the book.
The colours and the less fussy cover drew me in.
Books can sometimes often viewed as a calming, solitary action and I really think that this text involved the child like a game making it engaging and exciting to read. Solitary and quiet reading is great - I love it as an adult! - but it is also great to have a 'game like' book.
I particularly enjoyed the medal section at the end, giving a bit of achievement for finishing the book with an adult.
