I say OH you say NO by John Kane is a great book to get children to concentrate and react to story time.
Children have to respond when they hear certain words by shouting out a reply such as NO and ME. The words then fit in with the story.
The use of Americanism such as “butt” may not go down so well in other countries but children will enjoy the humour intended.
I’m sure the book would go down really well with a group of children in a play school or primary class where the they would perhaps enjoy participating in the responses together.
The illustrations are very effective and should help keep the child’s attention. The colours are bold and it’s a nice size book.
It’s definitely a read out loud book and should be great fun.
