This is a a bright and colourful book to be read with young children. It’s all about read and response. To be honest it almost doesn’t make sense in part unless it’s read out loud and the probable responses are factored in. I think the type person reading this would be the one that made all the difference as to how the book is received. I can certainly imagine children getting delightfully exasperated each time they make the correct ‘no’ response and the reader says why not… ( you need to be there) I have the same reservation, however, as I had when I saw the first look as to me, butt for bottom/bum is American rather than English usage. It’s the third in the series, which seems to have been well received. I suppose therefore that I am being overly pedantic. I would quite like to see it ‘in action’ with a group of children as I’d probably then get more idea of how well it works
