It is not often that a pre-teen takes the lead in a war themed novel, let alone a central role in wartime duties. In this case our protagonist works with carrier pigeons as part of the war effort! The setting of Bletchley Park makes it sound really interesting, and Robyn appears to be a spunky character ahead of her time as a girl who helps her dad with cars. Themes of hard work, friendship, national pride and dedication are all key to this book which has a great, exciting cover and would make for a great read for any age!
