This took me a long time to read and I’m not sure why as every time I picked it up I could tell it was a fantastic and differently unique telling of World War Two and from a child’s part in the journey. This is a children’s book but I do truely believe it can be enjoyed by anyone and would find it a good book for all the generations to read and discuss in a little book club sense. One of the reviews I read was that it was a grandma who read it due to her fathers past but she was passing it on to her daughter and grandchildren to read and I loved that this author has created a novel which is perfectly suited for this!
I would read more from this author and loved the book. The cover is fun and the story is not dumbed down for young readers. A must read for young people and a very good interpretation of what happened during World War Two.
