I really enjoyed how this book developed the world and characters. Although predominantly aimed at a younger audience, I still found myself engrossed in the story and wondering what will happen next. I am not the target audience, but for a child’s book I was more engaged than I expected. Therefore I would expect children aged around 8-12 to enjoy this book particularly.

The plot was quite simple but I found that it was well explored and it was never dull or too predictable like some children’s fiction can be. The characters were diverse, likeable and some were set as good role models for children to follow

In general, I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a fun adventure but I think it specifically would be a great read for growing readers who might be bored of the same kind of books on offer, and want to read something exciting and fun.
