I was eager to read "I Spy" the first in the Bletchley Park mystery series and I was disappointed. The book is set in Bletchley Park and revolves around 3 characters. Robyn who is 13 and lives on site. Ned who comes to work with his Dad and Mary a friend from school who also ends up working at Bletchley.
The three children have a lovely relationship but I found Robyn rather annoying. She seemed to have too much freedom to give into trouble and was rather overbearing in thinking she knew everything. I know the book is sat during WW2 but the way the children were treated by some of the adults at Bletchley Park was rude, dismissive and a nuisance they were having to endure. Even if that is true to life, its not something I want to spend my time reading about and its put me off reading any other of the books in the series. On a plus side the front cover was really beautiful and captured the essence of the book
