I am currently reading this with no year 5/6 class as our reading for pleasure book.
Although we havnt finished this yet, the book has really gripped the class from the start and they have been asking to read more of it. It follows the journey of a young girl during the start of WW2, who experiences all the changes brought about by the way. She lives at Bletchley Park and soon notices all the changes that happen there. She is very confused when she is told she will not be returning to school, and will infant be starting to work. When she is found by officers having 'borrowed' a bicycle, she is soon questioned about who she has been talking to, and finds herself being made to sign the secrets act to ensure she keeps the secrets at Bletchley Park.
My class and I are looking forward to finishing this book, and I'm sure it will become a favourite to read when we study WWII in history.
