This book is definitely aimed at a younger audience and is an ok read but didn’t keep me too interested unfortunately. Robyn’s character is great though and I love her enthusiasm for never giving up and her sneaky antics for finding out what’s going on in her home surroundings. She’s got her best friends tagging along with her too. To be fair I think she had the better deal working with the pigeons and Mr Samuels, it must have been quite an interesting job back in the day to help carrier pigeons send messages from here to there. Not sure I would have liked the smell of the loft though! This book will be great for a young reader who loves a little bit of a wartime story. And obviously any adults who are interested too. I think children nowadays would love to finish school at thirteen and go out to work and earn some pennies, I know I would have! Great!
