The first pages were promising and they kept the readers speculating. But it doesn't really touch the mark. The author knows her stuff and the writing isn't too wordy. However, the book lacked charm and appeal. Lydia's character seemed very careless and didn't seem to have a kicker. Given that the theme was something that would attract quite the youth population since these are the tropes that everyone is hyped over, it disappoints. There are way too many books offered around similar themes that offered a better plot and a more thorough character sketch. The book is quite mediocre especially since I found other books written by Anna Bell exceptional.
It has quite a lot of witty remarks, apt use of sarcasm, and such but then again not something that you wouldn't find with most books for the set age group.
It's easy on the eyes and overall a good book but still has potential for better.
