This book is very funny and engaging. It reminds me a lot of Bridget Jones diary in the way it is explained I can hear her voice narrating the story. It is so refreshing to hear a story like this. A character that is just overwhelmed with life and is getting to the stage in her life where marriage is so important but she is just like 'well who needs bridesmaids, save money and elope'. The book is engaging because it is a story where the reader can relate it to real life feelings and situations that are exaggerated in the book. It even shows the hilarity of her colleagues promotion because of her looks over Lydia's obvious devotion to her work noting how she is good at coordination and things but describing her colleague Helen as wearing a short skirt and drunk while she is at work. I would love to read the rest of it. But as I mentioned I think it is very similar to Bridget Jones.
