A fascinating and essential read in these Brexit laden times. As a fellow traveller, albeit less brave than this lady, I understand the need to go, to leave London and find adventure elsewhere. The authour cleverly uses her own travels to observe history through the sights she sees. I hope this doesn’t make it hard to follow as you progress through the book, first impressions are of s wonderfully written, intelligent insight into an area of the world we must all educate ourselves to understand.
