To begin with, I wasn’t sure how much I would like our main character, Cat, she seemed quite tough and doing a macho sport made me wonder how likeable she would be, but during the course of the story we see a vulnerable and personable side to her. She tries to be an objective officer as well as a good friend, although I did wonder whether she would be allowed to stay on a case like this in real life.
‘Sam Blake’ is an experienced publisher & knows how to grab and hold her audience’s attention. The story moves along rapidly, with plenty of twists to keep you wondering what is going to happen next.
I enjoyed this novel, although I was not totally convinced when the loose ends were tidied up at the end.
