Why is Scandi Noir always so fragmented? Is it to do with the necessity for translation or is it a cultural difference? I'm not really sure but the jumping between different strands of this story is completely jarring and makes it a difficult read in the first few chapters.
One saving grace is that there are no red flags going up already about how this is going to end up (although I'm pretty sure Jonas will be found to have been imprisoned wrongly and then there will be a fight to prove the miscarriage of justice). Kjell probably won't get to retire to Aix in a week's time either.
To be honest I didn't enjoy this first impression enough to actually care what happens
