I have to admit that I hadn't heard of Anne Holt before reading this sample. Apparently, she was the former Minister of Justice in Norway and it seems her experience has helped inform her writing and make her Norway's bestselling female crime writer. Since this is the last in the series, I would want to read the previous books before tackling this one to appreciate the character development.
