The misty cover is quite intriguing but gives little hint of the turbulent emotions and complex characters within this novel. The grief of the bereaved father, and his non-rational feelings of guilt, are powerfully displayed in contrast to the reluctant involvement of the detectives considering reopening this cold case file.
