Too many strands not enough meat in any to care
The danger sign was there in the preview pages right away, i never trust a book that starts with lots of praise for previous work - usually trying to cover for a mediocre effort in the one you are holding.
From the blurb i was expecting to enjoy this, but on reading the first 30 pages i couldn't care less. Several different story lines are begun, none of which are particularly gripping for me (and from the blurb it sounds like even more still to appear), a man was convicted of a murder he didn't commit, but even now he himself doesn't even care about resolving it - so why should we?
