This is a great example of Scandi crime fiction. Two seemingly unconnected "solved" crimes that were assumed to be suicide but that get re-investigated by a pair of specialists in cold crimes.
Meanwhile the guilty party from the older crime has been released from jail after 12 years and seems obsessed by a famous YouTube blogger and her daughter. When he loses his job the obsession turns into kidnap.
As Henrik and Hanne each pursue their own case bit by bit the investigations start to merge. What is fab though is that the book takes it's time and doesn't rush. Little hints and bits of information drip feed throughout the book until suddenly we are in a race against time during the last chapter.
A taut, well written novel - I look forward to reading more from this author.
