I wish I’d have read the other books in the series before attempting this one. I think that the detectives back stories were so integral to this final instalment that I just couldn’t enjoy it.
The storyline itself although really good, requires the reader to concentrate on all threads of the story both past and present and this isn’t the sort of book you can read in a noisy environment or put down mid page because you will get completely lost.
The ending tidied everything really quite nicely especially for a crime thriller type book, but I guess as it’s the last in a series that was bound to be the case.
Perhaps I should read my way through the rest of the series and then revisit this review as it’s probably not fair to the author otherwise and I did like her writing style a lot.
