I wasn’t originally going to read the start of this book, but that cover kept pulling me in — something about the colours?
After reading the synopsis and the opening, I’m really interested in reading more. This is a story of family and of people trying to do the best with what they have — immediately draws comparisons to Clare Furniss, Juninho Dawson’s latest Margot and Me or even Unbecoming by Sarah Downham, multi generational family dramas.
As a 90s baby, I’m really interested to read more of the flashback timeline as well as Angie’s.
Dellaira’s writing style feels different from some contemporary YA; I can’t quite put my finger on it but I want to read more.
