I felt drawn into this story from the start - especially to the character of Marilyn and what has happened to her in the last eighteen years from the teenage girl we meet to the single Mum of a teenager herself. It feels like there is an interesting story to be told between Marilyn and James as well as exploring the relationship between Marilyn and Angie and where it is that Angie is heading at the start of the novel.

The story was involving and told you quite a lot about the different characters in just a few short pages. Enough to make you want to read the rest of the book and find out how it develops and ends.
