‘In Search Of Us’ is a beautiful but heartbreaking book about self-discovery and first love. I cried when reading it. The fact that it has two perspectives from two different but linked characters (a mother and a daughter) made this book more enjoyable but the character James could have been brought in more. It would have been interesting if James’ perspective could have been brought in, even if it was for one chapter.
Though the book wasn’t a suspense, it did bring up loads of questions that made me not able to put it down like, Is James still alive? Why did Marilyn lie to Angie? and so on.
I loved the ending, almost an happily ever after, and how everyone ended up happy. I liked how the book was going and the steady development of the characters, it was almost like I was waiting for Marilyn’s uncle to do something!
I would recommend this book to anyone.
