I received this book from the publisher via Readers First. This in no way effects my opinion on the book.

In Search of Us is a tale of mother and daughter. It told from the perspectives of both Marilyn the Mother and her life in the 90’s and Angie the daughter in present day. Angie is searching for her truths, dealing with feelings regarding not knowing her father amongst other things. While Marilyn’s perspective gives the reader the insight into the past Angie is searching for. It’s a lovely read but wasn’t for me and wasn’t quite what I was expecting in terms of plot line.

The characters are likeable but it is hard to relate to Angie and somehow it feels mostly her story than her mothers. I also didn’t like the 90’s (past) perspective, the 90’s - being the years that I myself was a youngster, seems too close to be looked at as a past perspective, it’s too recent. It just didn’t work for me.
