Like I've said, much like a lot of books I've read recently, this book took me the longest time to get around to, but this time, though, for an actual quite valid reason. It's been sat on my shelf for the longest time, untouched, as I was adamant that it was a sequel to a book that I don't own.

In Search of Us is a heart warming book about a mother and daughter, and it's two stories in one, with both being told when the mother and daughter are both seventeen.

The mother, Marilyn's story follows her as she meets her daughter's father, and their romance which lead to the birth of Angie, their daughter.

Angie's side of the story follows her going on the hunt for her dad, who she has never known, after finding out that there is a possibility he is still alive somewhere. While on the journey from LA to New Mexico, she discovers things about herself, as well as what actually went down with her dad.

I did think that this book would be bright and hopeful the whole way through, but there are elements that go over somewhat tough topics, and it's nice to see am accurate representation of what life truly is.
